Chelsea McMullan is a Canadian filmmaker whose works have premiered at Sundance, TIFF, and New York Photography Festival. Her award-winning shorts have been featured by Nowness, Dazed, Vice, GQ, i-D, and Vogue Italia. She has also directed commercial films for brands like Gucci, Isabelle Marant, Audi, and Samsung.
Whenever possible, Chelsea inhabits the space between documentary and fiction filmmaking; probing into perceptions and identities of whom she turns her lens to, her films blend reality with the surrealness of memory. Her film My Prairie Home profiling a Canadian transgender musician, Rae Spooner, had won best documentary in the Milan Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, and was shortlisted for Sundance’s Grand Jury Prize.
